Seasons Of Loneliness

The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons are almost upon us. A time of families gathering around the table with turkey and all the trimmings!

But for some it is a season of loneliness.

Being alone and loneliness are two different things. We can be alone and enjoy our peaceful time. But loneliness is a deep hurt with no one to reach out to. Sometimes it is accompanied with feelings of rejection. It hurts our hearts, and shows on our face. Loneliness can trigger thoughts of "better times," of the way "things use to be." Loneliness is a private room with no windows.

For a Christian to believe he or she is totally alone is a lie of the devil. We have wonderful promises for just such times.

Matthew 28: 20 …and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

John 15: 9   As The Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

Hebrews 13: 5  …For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

Psalm 139: 1- 3 O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways,..

Proverbs 18: 24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a Friend who sticks closer than a brother.

My friends, we are never alone! Jesus walks every mile, every day, every holiday hand in hand with us!

Hold On!

Our VineOur VineAbide, even the word sounds comforting, secure and relaxing. Abide in Me and I will abide in you. What a beautiful promise from our dear Friend, Jesus.

When I lived in Florida, I had a stream of vines growing in my backyard. One afternoon I took my shears and cut a branch off. I placed it in my kitchen, and asked the Lord to please teach me about abiding, branches, fruit, and myself. As the days passed Read more »

There’s Bloomin’ Goin’ On

Have you ever asked God for guidance than argued, or pouted about the answer He gave you?

Well, probably none of you would be so unthankful, so unchristian, but as for me I have done it…..and it wasn’t very long ago.

I was asking His guidance and wisdom about this web site. “What would You have me do?” He is always faithful to answer, but……

Being the wonderful, wise, grown up, Christian women that I am, I responded, “I don’t want to!” If I remember correctly, I heard my foot stomp the floor, crossed my arms, and felt my lower lip protrude!

Thank God for mercy and grace! The Lord told me to expand the Cafe. I explained I’d had enough problems getting this far. I don’t have the time, energy or the “techie” knowledge to build on! (anyone notice all the “I’s”) Somehow God had missed all this information.

Well, after my fit throwing, I unfolded my arms, got control of my lower lip and started thinking like a faith filled women……So

The springtime is not the only thing blooming! The Cafe is growing, blooming and making head way with 3 new sections! There will be a Resource page, the Music Nook, and the Business Nook. I am about half way done with the Resource page. All of this will take me longer than I would like, but I want only the best products and services for you.

If you want a web site with a perfect, got it all together, web host, please delete this site from you favorites! But, if you want someone to encourage you through her own messes, failures, mistakes, and boo-boos, stay tuned, you’re in the right place!

Thank you for stopping by my blog!

God Bless,

Psalm 116:5  Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; Yes, our God is merciful. The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He save me. Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

My Goal

This morning as I was reading my Bible and having prayer time, I felt the Lord showed me verses that state what my website is really all about.

In Isaiah 58:10 it says, “If youBible extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul,….

This is my purpose; to encourage, and to help satisfy hungry people starving for truth!

I remember 10 years ago when I needed truth, and could find none. I needed encouragement but mostly found cold, uncaring hands to grasp.

It also says in Joshua 1:15 “until the Lord has given your brethren rest, as He gave you…

My goal is to share in the many ways the Lord has given me God’s truth and love for each of you.

Do you have goals? Do you have a purpose? Life without purpose is an empty, wondering life.

He wants to show you the reason He created you! Spend time in prayer, time reading and studying His Word…..you might be surprised what He has to say to you!

May He richly bless all of you!

I Lie Too Much!

Yes, the truth is out! I have lied to myself way too much! Do you lie to yourself? How would you know?

How do we decide a lie we are telling ourselves from the truth? Is what you’re telling yourself the same

thing the Word of God says? Is it a truth of the Bible? If your thoughts are in line with what the Bible says

than you are thinking truths. But, if you’re thought life is different than what the Word of God says then….

Garbage Truch

You have “stinkin thinkin?” Do you have garbage in your thought process?

The good news is you can change it! The truth is you are in charge of what you think!

In Proverbs 23:7 it says, …”as a man thinks, so is he.”

Are you depressed? Do you feel hopeless? Do you think you’re a failure?

It’s time to get the garbage out and God’s truth in!

I have a free source I want to share with you to help you in this area.

Gregory Dickow Ministries have a free 40 day fast, it is not a fast from food, but of wrong thoughts.

You can find this wonderful free source here.  Let’s take the truth of God’s Word together and renew our minds!

Just one of the many “garbage” thoughts we have is, “I can’t!”

What does the Word of God say about what you can do? Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengths me.”

Doesn’t sound like “can’t” to me, does it you? 1 John 4:17 says, “As He is, so are we in this world.” Doesn’t sound like a failed life to me!

We, as Christians are suppose to believe the Bible so maybe our thought lives will be where the rubber meets the road in our faith.

Jesus loves you!

Saint’s Promises

As we said yesterday all of God’s promises are yes and amen in Christ. What are the promises? There are many in your Bible.

Today we are going to look at some of them. As you will note, I have not written out each promise. I have given you the topic

and the verses…believe me, from my own experience, it will live in your heart and mind much better when you read them for yourself!

I have a color code I use in my Bibles, I underline all the promises in pink. You can use red, or circle them, put stars next to the verse,

etc. When you need a boost, encouragement, and truth about a situation, these promises will be gifts to your spirit, heart and mind.

cliffsoverlake3   Every Good Thing: Psalm 84:11, Psalm 34:18, Matthew 7:7-11

  Blessings: Proverbs 10:6, Proverbs 28:20, Psalm 21:3

  Sleep: Psalm 127:2, Proverbs 3:24

Answered Prayer: Psalm 91:15, Matthew 21:22

  Bodily Healing: Exodus 15:26, Psalm 103:3, 1 Peter 2:24

All Things Possible: Mark 9:23, Matthew 17:20

  Protection: Psalm 121:8

As time goes on we will be looking at many more of these promises! They will keep your mind and heart at peace!

May the Lord’s promises enrich, encourage and bring His wonderful truth to your life!

Till next time,

Lyn
